(and a Few Double-Takes)
The transformation is well and truly underway! After some hard graft, the front of the house has a brand-new look thanks to a fresh paint job by Felipe.
Felipe chose a crisp white for the main exterior to catch that coastal light, paired with Colorbond Monument for the base and trimmings. I believe I can navigate the South Nowra Bunnings with my eyes closed now.

While we love the modern aesthetic, the primary goal was protection – sealing the exterior to prevent further degradation from the salt and sun. It seems the “new look” is working, as we quite often see pedestrians and street traffic slowing down for a gander as they pass by.
A Growing Garden
The greenery is also starting to find its feet. You might notice the ponytail palm sitting front and centre on the lawn. This was a gift from a friend years ago; while its current spot is likely temporary, it is a lovely bit of nostalgia to feature while we sort out the final landscaping (which feels quite daunting at the moment).
Sustainable Living
We are also leaning into a bit of “edible” styling. We are currently trialling a variety of potted leafy greens and herbs, both up on the balcony and in the shaded area below. The goal is to add a sustainability angle to the house, giving the place a lush, lived-in feel while providing us a bit of fresh produce for the kitchen.
It is a real labour of love, and we are thrilled with how these layers are coming together.
