the original
When we first shared the starting point of our Currarong renovation, the original bathroom was top of the list for a rethink. We loved the vintage character of the space, but it needed a significant functional and aesthetic lift.
There was very little storage and the bottom of the cabinet (out of shot) was literally disintegrating from chipboard and water damage.
Felipe has just finished the update, and it is a massive transformation. By focusing on smart, practical changes, we have managed to improve the quality and sense of space without losing the charm of the original tiles and colour scheme.
The update
It was all about working with what we had rather than fighting it. The new additions feel right at home:
- A brighter palette: Felipe painted the room, which immediately opened it up and made it feel much cleaner.
- New vanity and storage: We installed a new vanity and a floating cupboard, which makes a huge difference to the storage and floor space.
- Updated fixtures: The new sink and tap feel modern but sympathetic to the room’s era.
Super happy with how it came together. It proves you do not need to gut a space entirely to make it feel brand new.
